I have long felt the need for the church (or a member) to produce a poster that clearly lays out the Plan of Salvation. As a missionary, we often drew out different versions of the Plan as a way to show investigators and new members how it works. Depending on your artistic skill, some of these were great, but many of them (such as mine) were not. The desire for a graphical presentation grew more acute once my sons were born. Trying to explain the Plan of Salvation to a five year old without being able to show him a picture is nearly impossible. Even grown adults have a difficult time understanding how it all fits together.
So, imagine my delight at the August 2024 For The Strength of Youth Magazine. It has an article, The Plan of Mercy, that beautifully illustrates the Plan of Salvation. (You have to download the magazine to see the full picture, it isn’t on the website version.) But, for all its beauty, it has some rather glaring problems. First and foremost, it completely omits the Fall of Adam and Eve despite it being one of the Three Pillars of Eternity that Apostle Bruce R. McConkie declared, “as essential a part of the Plan of Salvation as the very Atonement itself.” Additionally, a great deal of the information about the various points of the Plan of Salvation that are included is so truncated and simplistic that it didn’t really explain anything.
So, I decided to fix it.
This is the result. I’ve gotten rid of the pictures of Corianton that makes him look like he is an 8 year old, added a great deal of information about every part of the Plan of Salvation, included scriptural references where you can learn more, and clarified things that I thought were not explained very well. Though there is more text, I believe that it is better because it helps adults and children alike better understand each part of the Plan. At every step, you will learn why it is important and how the Atonement of Jesus Christ empowers us to have peace and joy in this life and eternal joy in the life to come.

I hope it and the deeper understand of God’s Plan of Salvation it offers blesses you and your family.
